Coachford Community Association Scarecrow Competition
Congratulations to the three winners of the Coachford Community Association’s first ever Scarecrow competition. All three were brilliant, original and a little scary!
The winner in the ‘Most original’ category goes to the children of the Coachford National School. We loved the use of the carrot for the nose, and that it came from the school’s own garden was an added bonus.
The winner in the ‘funniest scarecrow’ was Coachford Post Office’s entry. This also could have won the scariest category! The judges loved the pumpkin as the head, it really tied it in with Halloween but it was the red hair that made this scary scarecrow look really funny. Well done.
The winner in the ‘most likely to scare crows’ category was the McFalls family entry. This one scared the life out of the judges. It was like something you’d see in a horror movie. Very simple but very scary!
Thanks to all those who entered. We realise that with Storm Ophelia battering all of us it wasn’t the best time to be building scarecrows.
