St. Stephen’s Day 5km Run

St. Stephen's Day PosterThere was horrible rain, it was very cold but WOW what a great turn out for the first ever St. Stephen’s Day Greenway Run. Thank you to all who came and donated. The Coachford Community Association raised €370. We had Runners, Joggers, Walkers and Strollers. We had visitors from overseas, neighbouring Villages, next door parishes and friends from all over the country. Congratulations to local Michael Buckley, Aghavrin who ran the 5km course in a superb 20.08 followed closely by Gary Noonan (20.18) and John O’Sullivan Glanmire (21.37). Another local, Brendán O’Sullivan (West Muskerry) was 4th (22.06), Anthony Patterson (Bweeing) (22.54) was 5th , Paul Mansbridge was 6th (23.45) and Eoin Buckley from Nadrid came home in 24.22. The first female home was Caoimhe Kilkenny (24.44) followed very closely by her mum, Mags and aunt, Mary Buckley. Thanks again to all who supported and especially to O’Donovan Engineering for the Gazebo and to Eileen Martin and the Inniscarra Lake Tourism Development Company. See ye all next year!
