Operation Transformation continues
Support for the Coachford Operation Transformation continues to grow. The timed jog/run on the Coachford Greenway on Sunday was a huge success with over 50 participants of all ages and fitness levels braving the cold to enjoy a midday walk along the banks of the river Lee. The six week programme, which has been organised by CM Fitness, Nutrition & Sports Rehab continues this week with walks, badminton, body tone classes and five a side soccer. Another Greenway walk is scheduled for this Sunday at noon. Get Involved!.
Honour for Coachford Team
The Coachford AFC junior B Soccer team were presented with the Cork AUL team of the month award for November. The boys have enjoyed a very successful start to the season and were unbeaten in the league in November. Congratulations to the players and their manger, Pat O’Sullivan.
Festival AGM
The Annual General Meeting of Broomhill Vintage Club takes place in the Community House Coachford on Thursday January 22nd , The club had a very successful year in 2014. The club membership grew and the vintage runs were very well supported. The Tractor Building team reached the All Ireland Final again this year and after a very close competition which took place at the National Ploughing Championships emerged as runners up. Members of the club also enjoyed a trip to the transport museum in Kilgarvan in November and this turned out to be a great success and more day trips are planned for 2015. The Coachford Autumn Festival in 2014 was the club’s most successful one and the members managed to raise over €8,500 for charity. The Chairman of the club, Tadgh Murphy said “ We’ve had a great year, a very enjoyable year and one full of achievements. We are already beginning to plan for this year’s Festival on August 14th 15, and 16th . The club is looking for new members to get involved in helping to plan for and run this year’s Coachford Autumn Festival. The club has donated over €30,000 to charities and worthy causes over the last four years. If you would like to do something worthwhile in 2015 and at the same time have a lot of fun, meet new people and help to make the festival even better then come along on Thursday. Don’t worry you won’t be landed with any big job unless of course you want one!!”
Coachford Local Market
The monthly Coachford Local Market takes place on Saturday January 24th from 10.30am to 1.00pm in the GAA Hall Coachford. Lots of cakes, jams, vegetables and crafts for sale as well as warming cups of tea and coffee.
Minors celebrate title win
Aghabullogue minor footballers will be presented with their East Region Championship and Cork County league title medals at a function this weekend in the Lee Valley Golf and Country Club. The footballers enjoyed a very successful year and missed out on bringing a county championship title back to the parish when they lost narrowly to Ballyvourney in the final. The Under 21 hurlers captured the Mid Cork title for the first time in 20 years after a thrilling final against Blarney which for many club supporters was the highlight of last year’s summer games. The hurlers will be presented with their medals also on Saturday night. Tickets for the victory social are €30 and music for the night is supplied by Rylane based band, ‘The Hillbillies’ .
Camogie AGM
Aghabullogue Camogie Club will hold their Annual General Meeting on Friday January 30th in Aghabullogue Hall at 7.30pm . Everybody is welcome.

Coachford Under 17s play Rathcoole on Saturday at 2pm in Rathcoole. The Premier team play Glen Celtic at home in Coachford at 2pm in the league Saturday
Boxing Tournament
Rylane Boxing club are hosting a club tournament on this Saturday, January 24th at 8.00pm in Rylane Hall. Go and support your local boxers. A great night of boxing is assured.
Aghabullogue Business Association
