Congratulations and well done to the Killanardrish/Coachford under 12s who defeated Blarney United in the second round of the cup tonight at the Glebe. Both teams started well and Blarney showed their intent early on with quick probing runs down the middle of the pitch putting the home sides defence of Alan O’Sullivan, Jack O’Connor, Josh Martin and Tony Nolan under early pressure. Fifteen minutes into the game  Killanardrish/Coachford’s midfield of Mark Murphy,Keelin O’Sullivan, Adam Murphy and Luke Casey worked hard to get the ball up to their strikers, Jack Oldham and Jack Murphy who fought hard and won a corner. From the resulting ball, Mark Murphy rattled the back of the net to put the home side ahead. However Blarney kept their composure and equalised ten minutes later. The second half saw Killanardrish/ Coachford a better side and their defence was solid throughout the next 30 minutes however both sides failed to score and the game went to extra time. With only one minute to go in the second half of extra time and the tie destined to end in penalties up stepped Jack Oldham to evade the defenders with some lovely footwork and give Luke Casey a wonderful pass for him to slot home the winner. The home side were much the better team and fully deserved the win.
