Coachford gears up for Sunday’s Vintage run
The GAA grounds in Coachford is the venue for this Sunday’s Vintage and Classic Car and Tractor run. Registration begins at 11.00am with tea, coffee and scones available. The cars and Tractors head off at 12.00 in different directions. The Cars will depart for the west while the tractors head north. The Cars will explore the area around Cill na Martra, Ballingeary and Toonsbridge while the tractors will take a shorter route to Aghabullogue, Ballinagree and Rylane. Both groups will be welcomed back to Coachford in the afternoon to O Riordan’s Bar where they will enjoy a well deserved bowl of hot soup. This annual run is organised by the Broomhill Vintage Club and has become a favourite amongst the owners of vintage and classic vehicles.
Camera Club
The newly formed Coachford Camera Club head to the Gearagh this Sunday on their first outing of the year. The group intends to spend the afternoon taking different shots of this most unusual landscape just outside Macroom. The group will met in the Church Car park in Coachford at 2.00pm. Everyone is welcome just bring your camera.
Wedding Bells
Congratulations to Theresa Ryan from Borrisoleigh and Michael Martin Coachford who tied the knot last Friday in County Tipperary. The wedding party had a great day and a very enjoyable evening celebrating with the happy couple at the Abbey Hotel in Nenagh. Michael is a founder member of the Coachford Cycling Club and was tempted to cycle to Borrisoleigh for the ceremony! The happy couple have jetted off to Mexico and New York for their honeymoon.
Soccer
Coachford AFC under 13s play Tramore Athletic A on Saturday morning at 10.30am in Carrigadrohid. The boys have only a few games left in their league and need to win every one to ensure they lift this title for the first time in the club’s history. The Premier Team have a weekend off while the B team play Greenmount away on Sunday morning at 10.45am.
Soccer Lotto
The local lotto climbs to an amazing €6,000 this Monday. Last weeks numbers were 8, 12, 21 the lucky dip winners were Caitlyn Bradley (€40), John Healy, Hillary Walsh, Tom + Marie Riordan (yt), Willie Barrett (yt).won €20 each. Tickets are for sale in all the local pubs and shops in the village so make sure you get your ticket in time and you could be €6,000 richer next week.
