The Killanardrish/Coachford under 13 soccer team are on the brink of winning their second league title in as many years. Last years under 12 champions require just one point from their last two games to secure the division 2 title. The first of these two games is on Thursday May 2nd away to Avondale United at 7.00pm. The lads final game is at home in Carrigadrohid on Bank Holiday Monday at 10.30am when they entertain Tramore Athletic. The under 12s have a few more games to play but are unlikely to be dethroned from their top of the table perch however the coaches of the two teams, Paddy Martin and Liam Casey refuse to let thoughts of victory enter theirs or the players minds until it is mathematically impossible for them to be caught. The club’s under 15 team is closing the gap to the league leaders with every game and are now only 3 points behind leaders Carrigtwohill with three games left to play. This Thursday night the Under 15s travel to Carrigaline to play the home team at 7.00pm and they play Midleton away on Bank Holiday Monday at 11.45am.The Premier team have left themselves a huge task to capture the league title. Although having enjoyed a superb 7-2 victory against Greenwood last weekend they now must face formidable opposition this Saturday when they travel to CIT to play Pearse Celtic at 3.00pm. Pearse Celtic are one of three other teams who are Coachford’s main opposition for this seasons title. The other teams are last year’s champions Park United and Killumney United are the other two and Caochford must play all of them in the race to the finish. We wish all the teams the very best of luck.
