Aghabullogue win a thriller
Tremendous game of football in CIT today with Rusheen and Aghabullogue providing great entertainment. The quality of football was exceptionally high and the level that this 9 a side game was played was a credit to both schools and both sets of players. The first half was nip and tuck and the sides were level at the 15 minute break with Aghabullogue putting three points over the bar and Rusheen finding the back of the net once. The boys & girls in green and white took control of the second half and midfield upped the tempo. Aghabullogue tried to penetrate the Rusheen net early on but found it difficult due to the excellent goalkeeping skills of Eoghan O’Brien. In fact both goalkeepers were outstanding with Ciara Buckley for Aghabullogue also making sure that this was going to be a low scoring game. Aghabullogue did eventually find the net and went a goal up . Rusheen did everything in their power to draw up the match but Aghabullogues steadfast defence proved difficult to breach. In the end Aghabullogue emerged worthy winners on a scoreline of 2.03 to 1.00. Well done and congratulations to both teams.
